Story
Friends, Yinzers, Countrymen, lend me your ears (and maybe some cash),
As you may (or may not, I’m not judging) know I’m currently a third year pediatric resident at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. The past 2 years and a bit have been exhausting, exciting, exhilarating, and other words that start with the letter E.
Last year I was fortunate to raise over $1,200 for the Stache Bash, an annual tradition here at CHP where the staff band together to raise money for Pennies From Heaven (https://penniesfromheavenpittsburgh.org/ to read more about this amazing organization created by the family of a child who received care at CHP). In short this incredible charity sponsors meals, transportation, and other unexpected costs that families of hospitalized children face.
This year I will again be swearing off my razor in order to submit a creative, magnificent, genre defying photo of myself for The Bash.
Last year my beard went to Flavor Town as Guy Fieri and came in first place. Please consider donating to this cause to justify why my face looks more and more like a bird’s nest. This year, if you donate, I invite you to get to vote on who I will try my best to emulate: https://forms.gle/
I have a goal of $500 by the end of November; anything you’d like to give would be great, and if we pass that then all the more for the families. Do it for the kids, do it for the healthcare workers, and do it for my wife who is forced to look at me in the morning!
Cheers!
Sam
