As-salamu alaykum, Brothers and Sisters,

Stani Army members from the UK are well known for their support for the Pakistan Cricket team around the world and in particular for attending matches in fancy dress. Some of the members have been raising funds for IKCA for a few years at different Melas around the country but this year we have challenged ourselves to raise the bar much higher. We'll still have donation stalls at Melas but in addition we have another fundraising event lined up.

The event is : THE MOUNT SNOWDON CHALLENGE IN FULL FANCY DRESS.

On Sunday 8th June our members will travel to Wales and trek to the Summit of England and Wales's highest Mountain at 1,085 metres. The path we will take is the Miners Track with a total walking distance of 8 miles with a total climb of about 723m (about 3/4 of a Kilometre). It is estimated to take 6 gruelling hours but will be much harder when done in fancy dress. Many of the fundraisers haven't climbed a mountain before and to volunteer in fancy dress is really brave of them. May Allah make it easy for them.

We chose Imran Khan Cancer Appeal because its a cause close to all our hearts. We can never forget Imran's World Cup win and his early struggle to generate funds to build the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital in Lahore in memory of his late mother. This was the first dedicated cancer hospital in Pakistan and even now it is run entirely on donations from generous people like yourselves. The second hospital in Peshawar is also under construction. The 'Sheikh of Pakistan' and Jamal Tariq (118) visited the Lahore hospital last year and met some of the patients. They were both very moved and will be climbing with us next month, along with 'The Dictator', 'The King of Pakistan', 'Mr Pakistan', 'The Doctor', 'The Wizard' .Superman, Batman and Robin,  A Prince, The General, another 118 runner and Hannibal Lecter himself..

So please support us and spread the word so others can help and Insha'Allah together we can help Imran Khan in his fight against Cancer in Pakistan.
