Story
On Thursday 21st December 2017 our 12 year old son, Stan, was very unexpectedly diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
There are no words to truly describe the devastation and panic that we felt that day.
Treatment began within 90 minutes of diagnosis and chemotherapy, along with other treatments and procedures, began the next day.
Within 24 hrs of diagnosis Stan was expressing his gratitude to all the staff at the Sheffield Children's Hospital for their help and, despite his situation, he was adamant that when he was in a position to do so he wanted to raise money to help other kids that are dealing with cancer.
Stan’s chemotherapy and other treatments will go on for 3 years but his prognosis is good. This is simply down to all the research that's gone into childhood leukemia.
However, there are many kids, with different cancers, whose future is far more bleak.
That's why, as a family, we have decided to fundraise for Cancer Research UK Kids and Teens, so that we can help to contribute to all youngsters who are dealing with many different forms of cancer either now or in the future.
