Story
Hello! My name’s Tim Fell, and I have the privilege of being Chair of the British Stammering Association (BSA).
I’m going to walk the length of the country, from John O’Groats to Land's End, meeting and talking to people about stammering all along the way. Talking about stammering is a hugely important part of what the BSA is all about. Why? Because we want to change perceptions to reinforce the fact that stammering is nothing to be ashamed of, and to recognise that people who stammer are as capable and talented as anyone esle.
I’ll be talking to people about their stammer, and about my experience as someone who stammers. I’ll be talking to people who don’t understand stammering, and explaining to them what stammering is, and how it affects the lives of people who stammer.
Stamwalk is also an opportunity to bring the stammering community together. I want to persuade as many people as possible to join the BSA. More members means an Association with greater weight and influence, better able to make a difference to all those whose lives are affected by stammering. Joining is free and simple - visit www.stammering.org/join.
Your generous donation to Stamwalk will go towards funding the Helpline and Information Services. At the moment the Helpline is manned only one day a week due to lack of funds, and we simply can't service the level of calls and enquires we get. We know the BSA can help change the direction of people's lives. Please help us to widen our reach to help as any people as possible.
Many thanks
Tim
