Story
I've chosen to run for the Association of International Cancer Research because cancer is something that has affected too many members of my family on both sides of the pond. AICR does some amazing things to bring together the scientists from all over the world to research relatively underexplored and underfunded areas of cancer.
This cause has become all the more meaningful to me as Pop, my grandpa was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in March and passed away on April 12th. I will be running this race in proud memory of him.
Thankfully, due to advances in experimental treatments, I know many cancer survivors: David (father-in-law, myeloma), Al (uncle, prostate cancer), Mary (aunt, breast cancer), Chrissy (cousin, breast cancer), Peggy (aunt, breast cancer) and Pete (uncle, currently undergoing treatment for prostate cancer which has spread to his lymph nodes).
I'm also running in memory of Grandma (survivor of breast, throat, uterine cancers, died of colon cancer), Nana (great-grandmother, colo-rectal cancer), Gramps (great-grandfather, colo-rectal cancer) and Grandpa (prostate cancer).
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Association for International Cancer Research gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
THANK YOU!
