Well a very big thank-you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page and finding out what I'm up to..

Having endured sub zero temperatures, effects of altitude and no shower for 10 days whilst trekking to Everest Base Camp in 2011, I thought why not do it all over again?! So on September 28th I'll be jetting out to Tanzania to climb the world's highest freestanding mountain - Kilimanjaro.

Standing at 5895m, I'll be going 531m higher than last year and foresaking the luxury of huts for a tent for 8 days. I'll be taking the Rongai route, approaching the mountain from the north eastern side and taking in views of the Masai Lands along the way. 

No showers, no heating, 5895m of altitude and 13 hours of walking on summit night will make this a challenging trek but knowing that I'm doing it for such a great cause (and because you've sponsored me), I know I'll make it to the top.

The aim of The Hibbs Lupus Trust is to provide information, advice and support to people affected by lupus, their families and carers. To provide and assist in the provision of facilities, support services and equipment not normanlly provided for lupus patients in Staffordshire.

Lupus is an autoimmune condition meaning that their immune systems start attacking healthy cells, tissues and organs. Symptoms can range from extreme fatigue to problems with kidneys, heart, lungs and brain. To find out more please visit www.hibbslupustrust.org.
