Story

Chris cruelly lost his life to a rare form of cancer (bile duct) for which very little research and medical knowledge exists in comparison with other more commonly funded areas of cancer research. I'm trying to do as many challenges as possible to generate awareness and raise the cash needed to support the fantastic work of AMMF (the UK's only Cholangiocarcinoma charity).

My current challenge is to run the Royal Parks Foundation Half-Marathon in London (6 October 2013). I'm also going to be trying out a new running technique, running on the balls of my feet, which is an absolute killer! Your contributions will provide the financial support  that allows the AMMF to continue to develop the excellent social and medical support they offer families. Please dig deep and help!

Completed challenges - Three Peaks Challenge (13-14 July 2013)

I am taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge (walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours) between 13-14 July 2013 in the memory of my Father, Chris. I'm aiming to raise as much awareness and vital funds for AMMF - the UK's only cholangiocarcinoma charity - so that the AMMF can find the causes, and methods of earlier diagnosis and treatments of a rare form of bile duct cancer that cruelly snatched life away from a very loved, wondrous man.

My Father, for those of you who knew him, was a relentlessly loving person, who did everything he could to help his friends, family and other around him.

I would be delighted if you, too, would support me in my attempts to generate help for this fantastic charity, as well as ensure that more wonderful people like my Father are able to stay in this world a little longer.

Please share this with your friends and donate

Thanks,
Matt

Chris Jackson, a beloved Father, Husband, friend, had so many passions in life; an avid fan and devoted connoisseur of food and drink; a great lover of music, art, and cinema of all genres and all time periods; and a man obsessed with any kind of motorised vehicle that defied expectations, be it Donald Campbell’s bluebird that set consecutive land speed records back in the 50s and 60s, the NASA space missions, a second-world war spitfire, a steam-powered train, or Stirling Moss’ flying laps in a Maserati.

Aged 56, Chris cruelly lost his life to a rare form of cancer (bile duct) for which there exists very little research and medical knowledge in comparison with other more common types of the illness. Please help us to raise money to ensure that future patients suffering with this cancer can continue to live out their life passions.

This page aims to support the great work of the AMMF (the UK's only Cholangiocarcinoma charity) by generating donations, which can help to increase the levels of research needed to diagnose and treat people who suffer with bile duct cancer.

Thank you.
