I entered tri4life (my first tri) last year but had to defer as I was pregnant.  Little did I know then that charities like those which tri4life support would become so important to me.

In February this year, our funny little 4 year old daughter Freya began to have seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy. Her seizures were difficult to control and she developed debilatating cluster seizures; we were constantly in hospital. It was at this point we saw a neurologist and were given the devastating news that Freya possibly had degenerative brain disease and may only have months to live. We were distraught.

The hospital staff and those staffed by the hospital charities were amazing. They kept Freya fully  entertained during the day, I was whisked off for an uplifting massage and another child excitedly discussed his wish with me...a conversation I will never forget!  We still do not have answers for Freya and her future is still uncertain. But what what we are certain of, is how wonderful these charities are and how much children and parents truly need them
