Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you may know, in September last year my beautiful mum was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). It was something that no one had mentioned before and none of us were prepared to hear.

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a rapidly progressing terminal illness, which stops signals from the brain reaching the muscles.

Every case of MND takes its own course, but the disease may cause someone to lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, drink or breathe unaided. Some people may also experience changes in their behaviour, personality and the way they think. This may affect their ability to plan tasks on a daily basis and how they communicate with others.

When we first heard about mums diagnosis we all had a lot of research to do and my hope is that by doing some fundraising I will be able to raise more awareness of the disease.

I also hope to give a massive thank you to MND Scotland as they have been angels in supporting my family and I with things from helping arrange chairs for mum, arranging help for wills and helping me find things so mum can still bond with her grandchildren.
