When Olly got run over, Lorri at the The Cat Welfare Group was the first to message when he was found and offered their full support and provided crates and rehabilitation equipment to help him recover. Without their help I don’t know what I would’ve done.
TCWG is a charity run entirely by volunteers and we rescue stray or abandoned cats and kittens and look to rehome them into secure, loving homes once they have undergone medical checks/treatment and are old enough. When kittens have been abandoned, we have an expert team of carers and can hand-rear around the clock. Thanks to all of our wonderful supporters, we've had the most amazing 1st year that has totally surpassed our expectations and in which we have re-homed over 230 cats/kittens, and helped many more. 2020 has undoubtedly been tough for everyone and, in terms of raising funds, it has been challenging for us as well. We have made a loss in each of the last 4 months with vet fees essentially outstripping our income. Vet fees are by far our largest expenditure (now averaging £9,000 per month) and we have taken on cats/kittens that have been rejected by certain of the larger charities on account of cost.
