Story
Loosing my friend earlier this year came as a complete shock to me, it was devastating and nothing will ever fill the emptiness that my friend has left behind. By doing this row in memory of my friend it is not only an attempt to channel my grief into something positive but also and attempt to raise funds for the Samaritans who were there for me when I lost my friend. They were so helpful and supportive and I hope that the money I raise will help to support other family and friends of a loved one lost and maybe even support and deter someone else from taking their own life.
The rowing course I have set leaves West Mersea Creeks, out of the harbour and into the River Blackwater, out to the Bench Head, back to the Nass and then rowing up the River to Fullbridge and back to Mersea again equating to exactly 33 miles - 1 mile for each year of my friends life.
The date is subject to weather but I am hoping to start this row at 0600hrs Thursday 27th September 2018 and complete the challenge by 1830hrs.
