This year, we are hopping on our bicycles to visit 9 churches along a route of about 20 miles, including our home church of St Mary the Virgin in Kingswood, and the neighbouring Congregational Chapel. The others are in

• Chipping Sodbury: St John the Baptist
  
• Wickwar: Holy Trinity

We remember those who rode with us in previous years and are no longer able to do so.

The maintenance of churches like St Mary's is paid for by the donations and fund-raising of members as there is no centralised support. The money is put to use repairing damaged roofs, peeling paint, rusting gates, broken windows, rotting wood, and so on. Thousands of people take part in Ride+Stride every year to raise funds to support their local churches and county historic churches trusts. In our area we raised over £45,000 in 2021 for individual churches and for our grants programme. You can take part in this fun event by being sponsored to travel between our churches by walking, cycling, on horse back or on public transport or your own car! Most of our Ride+Stride supporters join in with others from their church but, if you simply would like to help save historic churches and support the Trust, you can sign up on your own!
