Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Members of the St Luke's Hospice Therapy Team have set themselves the gruelling challenge of a 26 hour move-athon. The event will take place on Friday 15th May, starting at 16:30 and will finish on Saturday 16th May at 18:30. Our inspiration came from the recent 2.6 challenge that has encouraged people to go out and set themselves tasks to raise money for charities during this difficult time of the Corona Virus Pandemic. Due to the important social distancing measures in place key fundraising events for St Luke's Hospice have had to be put on hold, which means the Hospice is generating a much smaller income from charitable donations.
The therapy team hold a weekly 'Let's Get Moving' class which is extremely popular and enjoyed by all who attend. Physical activity is a vital component to maintain good physical and mental fitness. By taking on this challenge we hope to raise money for the Hospice to help boost funds and achieve something that we ourselves can be truly proud of.
We will be posting regular updates on here and on our social media pages so you can tune in and see how preparation is going. We would welcome any messages of support and motivation to keep us going during the challenge.
The aim of the challenge is to have at least one member of the therapy team moving at all times. Appropriate social distances measures will be in place and the therapy gym will be set up accordingly. The challenge will involve the use of all gym equipment and exercise classes. There may even be a bit of fancy dress.
Thank you in advance for all your support in helping raise vital funds for a truly amazing cause.
St Luke's Therapy Team xx
