Story
I will be sleeping out to fund the Slough Winter Night Shelter to help raise money to help some of the homeless back into accommodation and to be able to give them the tools to rebuild their lives.
I did the sleep-out in 2018 and lying on the ground in the cold isn't a great the feeling and sleeping under the stars at 4 degrees isn't romantic, however it was the feeling of having nothing to do and nowhere to go tomorrow was my saddest moment. I can only imagine the loneliness and despair those people we meet must suffer silently.
I had the comfort of my family awaiting me that following morning but I still think of those people that we meet week in and out on a Monday night on the run and that they don't have a busy schedule, they don't have a reason to lift their heads at dawn, they don't have much and they still smile and chat and appreciate what little we offer, they even look forward to meeting us nearly as much as the cheese sambos on white.
Help us to help them and donate, thank you
