Having been stuck in one of the worlds toughest lockdowns for the past 6 months.. all we've been able to do is run!
...and so... Connor and I have decided to take on the 'Surf Coast Century', a 100km ultra marathon along the Great Ocean Road.. running across beaches and steep trails up and down the coast.
We'll both be running the full 100km distance and aiming to run this together (yikes!).
As part of this, we'd love to raise money for Vasculitis UK, a charity which means a lot to us both and has played a huge role in supporting Connor's sister, Kath, throughout her daily battle with Vasculitis. Vasculitis is rare but for those who have the autoimmune disease, it causes the inflammation of blood vessels, which restrict blood flow and can result in organ and tissue damage.
In 2015 Kath was diagnosed with Vasculitis and in 2017 she spent the best part of 6 months in the hospital and had one of her toes amputated.
The support network surrounding Kath, created by Vasculitis UK has kept her sane for the last few years. Her unbelievably positive attitude is at least partly thanks to this incredible group of people she has met and spoken with since this all started.
The amazing charity funds research into the causes and treatments for vasculitis as well as raising awareness for the many types that exist. They also offer support, advice and information to people suffering with the disease - all done entirely reliant on volunteers.
If you'd like to support this incredible charity (& our tired legs!) - then please donate whatever you can.
Thank you!!
