Story

Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page. The Sheriffs' and Recorder's Fund is a remarkable institution. It was founded in 1808 to help ex-prisoners from Newgagte Gaol get a new start in life by giving them a little money to start a business or travel to a new place; it helped their families buy clothes and coal for heating while they were in prison. Nowadays, after two hundred years as an active charity, the Fund still gives grants for training, welfare, clothing and household equipment. The mission is still the same: to support the vulnerable and needy families of London's offenders and to help ex-prisoners obtain training or a job, a stable home and the basic necessities of a decent life.

We have a team of seven enthusiastic runners - Alex, Amer, Hiroko, Kinda, Marco, Sarah and Stefanie, so please dig deep and donate now!
