In January this year, our colleague and friend was diagnosed with cancer. Elise battled courageously for 9 months with this dreadful illness and her legacy is this appeal, set up by her, in her name to raise £1 million for The Christie.

The money raised from this appeal will be split between Melanoma Research and the Derek Crowther Clinical Trials Unit.

 In support of this great cause, Ruth, Sue, Amy, Laura and Vicky will be spending a week trekking the Great Wall of China during October 2011. It’s a fact that 1 in 3 people will be diagnosed with Cancer at some stage in their life, so please help us to raise as much money as we can.

We have made a contribution towards the cost of this expedition and the charity will be paying the balance of the cost of the expedition (approximately £650 per person) from any sponsorship money raised. The amount contributed by the charity will not exceed 40% of the minimum sponsorship.
