Story
We have all had to put our lives on hold over these last 12 months. I had intended to participate in Macmillan's ride of their lives in June of 2020. However, whilst that was not meant to be a new target has been set and the race will take place in September of this year now.
Cancer is something that affects most of us either directly or indirectly and I'm excited to raise as much money as I can for a great charity and one that like so many has suffered a loss of income due to the coronavirus pandemic.
My reason behind taking place in the race is because like many people cancer has affected my close family, friends and work colleagues. My mum has beaten cancer three times. Others I know have not been as lucky. My work colleague, Cheryl Steel passed away in early 2020 after a brave battle with cancer. She was only 38...far too young to be taken from us. During her time working at John Quinn's she proved herself a very able head girl and horse woman and was popular amongst her fellow colleagues. I would like to ride in this race (and win this race!) in memory of her.
