I - Squash Squared Overview

Post pandemic there has never, in the history of Squash, been more of a need for new players to take up our sport. Without new players discovering or being introduced to squash, the sport cannot grow or develop.

Strong levels of participation are crucial to the furtherance of any sport and this, as well as the overarching objective of furthering sports and educational opportunities for underprivileged children, is where Squash Squared is committed to making a difference.

Squash Squared is a registered charity that works to ensure that every child regardless of background has the same academic and sporting opportunities as their peers.

The charity is proud to be the first of its kind in the U.K. and to have inspired other similar initiatives to be founded that also encourage more children into our wonderful sport.

Squash Squared strives to make a difference by

1 - Providing to children from underprivileged backgrounds: a) additional education support through tutoring; and, b) structured squash coaching in safe and welcoming environments  

2 - Introducing more children to squash

3 - Creating a pipeline of new players and a larger member base for clubs

II - Program Restart Post COVID & Expansion Plans

After a challenging last year with limited delivery due to the pandemic, the charity has now restarted its programmes, with a bold plan for expansion in coming 12 months.  Specifically, we are in the process of expanding our footprint to work with seven new schools beginning early 2022.

This would take the number of schools that we work with from 5 to 12 and allow another 150 children to play squash weekly and receive extra academic support.

We want these players to develop a love for the game, join clubs, and enjoy Squash is a sport for life

III - Squash Squared Cup 

The Squash Squared Cup, which was not held in 2020 given the pandemic, represents one of our primary fundraising endeavours.  The event itself is a fun way for a large number of teams, supporters, as well as Squash Squared pupils, to participate in competitive squash and also showcase the abilities of participating squash professionals and former professionals. 

Funds raised from this year’s Squash Squared Cup, to be held Saturday November 27, will help fund our planned growth objectives.
