Story
The Snowdon Triple Challenge : We will be cycling 17km, trekking 15km and kayaking 4km. Completing a 36km route in under 12 hours across a variety of terrains that will push us both mentally and physically.
We've been great friends since university and have a similar zest for challenges. In the past we've undertaken the odd 10km and moonwalk together but having children, busy lives and a few health issues has meant challenges have taken a back seat.
In February this year, 12 days after my 40th birthday I underwent a total hip replacement. A life changing operation on this milestone birthday. It makes taking part in this challenge important for so many reasons; a rehabilitation goal, continued good health, sense of achievement and a celebration of friendship. A change in health made me reevaluate. I am thankful to be on the road to recovery which makes it even more important to complete this challenge for charity we believe in. Over recent years too many of our friends and family have been effected by Cancer and raising what we can for Prevent breast cancer is our way of combining being sporty at forty and giving something back.
Thank you for taking the time to ready my story and your donation.
Predict. Prevent. Protect. You could call it our mantra. As the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer, we’re committed to freeing the world from the disease altogether. Unlike many cancer charities, we’re focused on preventing, rather than curing. Promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, we believe we can stop the problem before it starts. And being situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK, we’re right at the front-line in the fight against the disease.
