Story
I am challenging myself to lift the equivalent weight of an orphaned elephant to the top of a mountain. I am aiming to reach the peak of the highest mountain in Scotland, where I am completing my challenge, Ben Nevis.
To carry out this challenge, I will be lifting a 20kg medicine ball above my head 8,500 times which will equal the force of moving a 200kg elephant calf 1,545 metres in an upwards direction.
The Elephant EPIC is raising vital funds to support the conservation of wildlife and wild spaces. In August 2022, Game Rangers International opened the Wildlife Discovery Centre, which will provide free conservation education to over 5,000 children every year. It is also the home of our Elephant Nursery. Fully accessible to all, the Wildlife Discovery Centre will welcome an estimated 40,000 local and international visitors each year to immerse themselves in interactive displays and exhibits that will highlight conservation issues and the efforts to resolve them. We aim to make a significant long-term contribution to the protection of wildlife and wild spaces by showcasing Zambia’s natural wealth, increasing environmental awareness and inspiring greater conservation stewardship.
I would really appreciate your support. For every £250 I raise, not only will a Zambian school be able to visit the centre for a full day, but a school in the UK will receive a full day of conservation education too.
Thank you!
