Story
Thank you SO MUCH to all that have sponsored my walk.
I thoroughly enjoyed it though I must admit I hadn't known that so much of it would be a steep incline! The backs of my legs certainly knew about it on Monday morning! Watching the sunrise was gorgeous especially as the cool dewy morning gave us good conditions to walk in. I heard many personal stories during my walk from people that had watched children thrive under Winston's Wish programmes (charity experts, parents and a grandma too) as well as people who themselves had been helped through their bereavement. The personal experiences made it all too real and very worthwhile for me.
Many thanks for your support!
Rashmi

On Sunday I shall be taking part in the 10 mile Sunrise Walk run by Winston's Wish charity.
Losing a parent at any age is awful and nothing can fill that gaping hole in your life. However I can imagine few worse things than losing a parent or loved one just when you are in your most formative years, building your own ideas about the world and the relationships in it, and in need of much love and nurture. Consolable words must be scarce. This is where Winston's Wish comes in. As the leading organisation in this expertise they provide the support, training, helpline and personal resources for bereaved children and their families. They work with the children and families to help them to adjust to life after their bereavement, to deal with the confusing and conflicting emotions that may exist and to help them cope with those lonely, empty, unbearable moments that follow the loss of a loved one.
Whilst I am watching the sun rise over the glorious Gloucestershire hills on Sunday morning, I hope that I will be able to contribute in a small way to the magnificent work that Winston’s Wish continues to do every day.
I want to thank you for supporting me in any way that you are able. Every small amount donated will help some child who finds themselves in this terrible situation, with the help and care that will be so invaluable to them.
Very warm wishes,
Rashmi
