Jumpstart the Spokane JVs! These volunteers have dedicated a year of their lives to serve with JVC Northwest. As such, they have committed living the four values of Community, Simple Living, Social & Ecological Justice, and Spirituality/Reflection. Your gift goes into a communal pool which helps support their formation and keep fees low for the nonprofits they serve. Help them reach their goal of receiving at least 15 donations of any amount to their page!
Meet the Spokane JVs:
Molly (she/her) is from Destrehan, LA and will be serving as a Recovery Cafe Member Associate with Recovery Cafe of Spokane.
"I serve because I believe that we as humans belong to one another. We have a duty to love each other and ensure that people know they are loved and worthy. I am serving because I want to learn how to do this well in every aspect of my life."
Alejandra (she/her) is from Othello, WA and will be serving as a Certified House Parent/Family Support Specialist with Vanessa Behan.
Becca (she/her) is from Omaha, NE and will be serving an Eviction Defense Project Program Coordinator with the Spokane County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Program.
"I serve because working for and with others and being in community motivates me. I have learned of the joy that is experienced when together you mutually accomplish something with the people you are serving."
Bodo (she/her) is from Scranton, PA and will be serving as a Creativity Project Coordinator.
"I serve because I believe our world and this country do not offer everyone the same opportunities that I grew up with. I was blessed to be supported by a large community and loving family throughout my whole life and know how important support and encouragement is for those still developing their identities. I was drawn to JVC because of the focus the organization places on working on building sustainable change and community growth."
Sophia (she/her) is from New Albany, OH and will be serving as a Nutrition Educator at Second Harvest.
"I serve because community is very important to me, and I strive to give back to any community I am a part of. I am passionate about creating a more just world for all, and serving with love and compassion is how I work towards that goal."
