Story
It turns out that we didn't get quite enough running under our belts in 2020 and so we're back to make another silly decision for a very worthy cause...
Over the course of 21-22 May, two teams of RAF personnel from the RAF Spitfires programme will undertake a challenge to cover as much distance as possible within a 24 hour period whilst raising funds to support the RAF Museum's celebration of the 80th anniversary of the first flight of the Avro Lancaster.
A team of cyclists and a team of runners will set off from RAF Cosford and Ladybower Reservoir in an all out max effort 24 hour distance race; working through the day and night, each team will be looking to cover at least 500km by foot or in the saddle.
Please help us to commemorate the anniversary of this momentous aircraft by donating what you can to ensure that the RAF Museum may celebrate 80 years since the first flight of the iconic Avro Lancaster; as well as continue to share the incredible stories of the crews for future generations to come.
Your sponsorship will enable the Royal Air Force Museum, a registered Charity, to continue to share the stories of the crews who showed incredible bravery flying missions for Bomber Command. The Royal Air Force has shaped our nation. It has influenced how we live our lives today through its impact on world events, society and technology. With your support, they will be able to share the RAF Story, past, present and future, using the stories of its people and their collections in order to engage, inspire and encourage learning.
