Anthony Nolan is the UK's blood cancer and bone marrow register. We are supporting this charity because they provided thousands of people a second chance at life, through matching critically ill people with stem cell donors for a lifesaving bone marrow stem cell transplant.

In May 2014 we heard the terrible news that our 17 year old cousin Kitty urgently needed a bone marrow stem cell transplant, to defeat the leukaemia she had been battling since August 2011. We began to recruit friends and family to the register, pledging to raise *£100* for every person who signed up before Kitty found a match.

We were completely over the moon when we found out in June 2014 that Kitty had been matched with one INCREDIBLE, LIFESAVING stranger -  a perfect tissue match who had agreed to donate stem cells to help give Kitty a whole new immune system. This transplant offered Kitty a chance at freedom to live her life, laugh with her friends, go to college, embrace Top Shop, oh and meet Harry Styles of course! 

An unbelievable *111* signed up to the register before Kitty began her treatment, setting us a fundraising target of £11,100! While Kitty began her gruelling treatment our fundraising efforts kicked off in earnest, featuring hundreds of supporters participating in charity runs, baking and a mammoth cross-country relay event - the  great 'Marrowthon'. Thanks to support from our amazing friends and family and the community we smashed our target in October 2014, and the totalizer continues to creep up!

However the story doesn't end here. Tragically only half of those who need a bone marrow transplant every year in the UK are lucky enough find a match. We are determined to keep spreading the word about the bone marrow register to help everyone waiting for a transplant to find a match.
