Story
As a family we have supported Brake since my wonderful 17 year old nephew Gregor died in a road accident in November 2017. If we can raise any amount to support the work they do and hopefully prevent such tragedies happening in the future it will save other families the heartache we have.
Brake is a national charity working to prevent road death and injury and support those bereaved and injured in road crashes. There are 5 people die on our roads every day and hundreds more serious injured. Visit www.brake.org.uk to find out more about their life-saving work.
While I have taken the WHW Race on before, this year I will be thinking of Gregor when times are tough, over those 95 undulating miles (over 14,000ft of ascent). He thought I was crazy...he's probably right. One day I would have got him out there on the trails with me and shown him the 'light'! The aim is to improve on my 26 hour finishing time. The 'race' takes place over mid-summer weekend, starting at 1am on 23rd June in Milngavie, finishing in Fort William before noon on Sunday 24th, with no sleeping!
