We help hospitality workers in crisis to provide them with support when in need

Story

In December 2023 Chris Mitchell and Robbie Laidlaw will face a challenge like no other, as they row across the Atlantic in aid of Hospitality Action.

Known as “the world’s toughest row” the Atlantic Challenge is a 3,000 mile expedition from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean.

Chris and Robbie will push their physical, mental and emotional boundaries to the limit as they tackle 20-foot waves, sea valleys 5-miles deep, storms and sleep deprivation in support of an industry facing its own raft of challenges.

Soaring energy bills, rocketing rents and inflation, paired with the staffing crisis and rising cost of living have led to mounting and heart-breaking pleas for help to our industry charity Hospitality Action. They’ve spoken to pensioners who’ve turned the gas off through fear of unsustainable bills; mums and dads losing all hope, as they become engulfed by bill after bill; and proprietors contemplating taking their own lives because the responsibility they feel towards their staff is too much to bear. Your donation, no matter how large or small, will make a world of difference.

Behind their smiles and slick service hospitality workers can fall upon hard times just like anybody else. Ours is a stressful industry, with long hours, high pressure environments and physically demanding work. We are here to offer financial, physical and psychological support to those who need it.
