Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page. This will be the 6th time that Craven Energy have run a feed station on the winter and summer Spine races. We now have approaching 20 successful Spine finishes from club members and we have 4 members racing in this winter’s full Spine. The race is loved by the club and we try to provide a little bit of help to all the racers who pass through. Whilst we provide service for free with no expectations, we have always raised some money for charity. In October 2021, one of our most loved members passed away from a heart attack at the age of 48 whilst riding his bike. He left a wife and 2 children. He has completed winter Spine, multiple Ironman events, Lakeland 100 as well as many other crazy ultra adventures. He was a Spiner and one of us. We all miss him dearly and our feed station this year will be in his memory. His wife and brother will both be helping on our feed station. Iain was fitter than almost all Spiners and there were no signs at all that he may suffer a sudden heart incident. Therefore, the charity understandably chosen by his family is one that could benefit us all.
