I ran the Birmingham Half Marathon as it was called in 2010 to raise money for local charity Cure Leaukaemia having been set the challenge of running by my friend who ran the previous year.

This year I want to run it again to raise money for the County Air Ambulance (www.countyairambulancetrust.co.uk/) and it's Helicopter Emergency Landing Pad (HELP) campaign, raising money to build or upgrade helipads at hospitals in the Midlands region.

I didn't know if i could run my first half-marathon last year having never run further than 200 metres at school but I survived and managed to raise £515 for Cure Leukaemia in 1 hour 54 mins and that has given me the drive to run again this year for another important charity.
