Story
*** UPDATE *** we finished in under 12 hours having walked 28 miles, and climbed over a mile in ascent over the 3 peaks. Thanks to the amazing support team from @romsey_mill and everyone who we met along the way. It was a fantastic day and there’s still plenty of time to make a donation!!!
Romsey Mill is a charity committed to overcoming disadvantage, challenging injustice and promoting social inclusion with young people, children and families. Each year, we work with over 2,000 individuals and families, from Cambridge city and across areas of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, including:young mothers and fathers, young people on the margins of society who may be involved in risky or anti-social behaviour, young people struggling to engage fully with education, families with pre-school children, or young people with an autistic spectrum condition. Our work is long term, relational and needs-led. We work with participants to develop their skills and to enable their progress towards training, work and positive involvement in the community.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a marathon-length walk through the Yorkshire Dales - it should take around 12 hours and we will climb the peaks of Whernside, Pen-y-Ghent, and Ingleborough, three of the highest hills in the dales. Spencer has been walking in circles around Cambridge to train; Emma is relying on Joe Wicks workouts and cycling. It’ll be fine…. Your support is greatly appreciated and any money you help us raise will be put to extremely good use in support of disadvantaged communities in Cambridge. Thank you!
