Story
26 Days, 26 Runs.
In 2018, I set myself a challenge to run forty 5km runs in forty days. This challenge kick started my love for running, sport and my real weight loss journey, but most importantly it raised close to £1000 for Cancer Research UK.
From the 26th April 2020, what would have been the 40th anniversary of the London Marathon which raised £66.4 million last year for thousands of charities, I am launching a new challenge.
To be brutally honest, I do not understand Mental Health. I struggle to understand what it is we need to do to avoid gaining a mental illness, but I am conscious of the fact that there is so much we can do when a friend, a family member or even a stranger is suffering from poor mental health. That is why I am raising money for Mind this year because no one should face a mental health problem alone.
From the 26th April 2020 to the 21st May 2020 I will run 10km a day, and for every £100 I raise I will add a day (currently, up until the 31st May 2020). Thats a total of 260km in 26 Days compared to the 200km over the 40 Days I completed back in 2018. So I urge you to start giving the gold, aka donate and keep me running!
And yes, that is 26 Speedy J’s in the photo.
