Story
To celebrate Spectrum’s 40th anniversary, we have assembled
a team of four cyclists, three from Spectrum plus a keen supporter. Together,
they will pedal the length of the UK, from Land’s End to John O’Groats, with the aim to raise £10.000 which will be used to fund healthy activities for our children's school at Three Bridges, Truro.
This epic ride of nearly 1,000 miles happens in May and will
take two weeks to complete. Along the way, Team Spectrum will be advertising
the benefits of outdoor activity for autistic people and how it has a
beneficial impact on sustained mental health and emotional resilience. They
will highlight the fantastic work of Spectrum’s dedicated support workers, as
well as the many wonderful achievements our autistic service users have
accomplished.
Marking our 40-year history of providing specialist care
services for autistic adults and children in Cornwall, we are excited to have
this opportunity to raise awareness of autism more widely across the country.
We want to encourage increased community participation for autistic people so
they can lead more fulfilled lives and become valued members of society.
All donations are greatly appreciated.
