Story

The team of thirteen aprehensive runners all work at SPAR UK, and are taking part in order to raise money for Childline as part of SPARs goal to raise £500k for the charity in 2012.

The runners are: Clare Banner, Katie Dunn, Kiran Sarkaria, Maria O'Callaghan, Charlie Craven, Graeme Puffett, Chris Lewis, Olivia Basten, Laura McNally, Rebecca Whitmore, Andy Burt, Caitlin McNally & Eve Molloy.

The money raised will go towards the running of Childline, a confidential helpline dedicated to children and young people. It is vital that this service continues to help children in the UK.

Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC
