Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
At 6.00am on March 9th 2008, 8 brave souls / stupid idiots from Space (Mike Mellor,David Griffin,Steve Fear,Chris Lee,Nigel Heath,Mark Howard,Dan Farey and Kenn Tagg) lined up alongside 34,992 other supreme athletes, at the start line of the Argus Cycle Race in Cape Town to take on the gruelling 110km (68 mile) course around the base ofTableMountain.
Unbelievably, we are all still alive and all completed the course in times ranging from 3hrs 30mins to 5hrs 50mins. It was an amazing event, very hot and very hilly but great fun with 1000's of supporters lining the way.
The original aim was to raise in excess of £10,000 for our clients Cotswold Care Hospice based in Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire who are in desperate need of extra funding to help with their refurbishment. With your help, that target has been comfortably beaten. (www.cotswoldcare.org.uk)
Our huge thanks go out to everyone who has or is in the process of sponsoring us. It is massively appreciated by us and Cotswold Care Hospice.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us. Cotswold Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
