Story
This year I signed up for St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice's annual fundraiser 'The Midnight Walk' with my mum (an experienced Midnight Walker). Of course Covid has struck but the good news is the challenge has gone virtual!
This would have been my first experience of the walk and the route and so I've decided to create an orienteering challenge around Cambridge using landmarks, buildings and street names that I would have spotted along the official route, as the markers.
I'm going to start the challenge at the College of West Anglia in Milton instead of Reaseheath College in Nantwich, and make my way around Cambridge until I have ticked off all the markers.
I'll take photos along the way as I reach the markers alongside my mileage! This could end up being an 8 mile walk or a 20 mile walk (but the aim is for roughly 10 miles like the original walk!)!
My plan is to do the walk on Sunday 28th June, the day after the official walk would have been.
Thank you for your support!
About St Luke's
Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year we supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care on our ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness. We are a charity and provide all our care for free, so we rely on the generosity and commitment of our supporters to raise more than 80% of our costs.
