So here we are, four friends / cricket club team mates from South Petherton who will be taking on a 26.2 mile walk round the highways and byways of our wonderful village for this year's 'London' marathon in aid of the Lord's Taverners charity. Simple, eh?

• Four guys willing to take on the challenge - check
• Four individuals wanting to raise money for a fantastic cause - check
• Four characters stubborn enough to refuse to quit - check
• Four youngsters in something like peak condition - errr

Let's just say that this team averages in the 40s per person, which would be great if we were talking batting but sadly that is candles on the birthday cake... still, what we lack in youthful exuberance we hope we can compensate for with experience, and after all this is literally a marathon not a sprint!

Our chosen cause is The Lord’s Taverners which is the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity who work across the UK and beyond to ensure that disadvantaged and disabled young people have access to free sport. As sports club members we understand the many benefits being involved in sport provides, especially for youngsters, not only the physical activity but learning the values of teamwork, respect and discipline as well as improved social skills.

Thanks very much for visiting our page. We are fully aware how tough things are for so many right now, and as such charitable donations are not exactly a priority for most.
