The 6th Annual 18 kilometre SotoSol Walk in aid of The Institute of Cancer Research took place on Saturday May 29th 2010 from Sotogrande International School.

 

The warm up by Lisa was great fun and the music by Nigel really got us in a party mood

Over 200 walkers and runners took part - a group had already walked from Castellar and completed a full marathon

We finished at Hotel Maritimo in the port where we were welcomed by a glass of cava courtesy of Linda Cockerell of Cortijo las Flores

There was a delicious choice of lunches, everyone was relaxed, tired but had enjoyed the stroll in the 30 degree heat!

 

The T shirts were very popular this year - bright yellow - a complete sell out!

 

We had great prizes in the raffle - prizes were donated as follows, Paul Dennis the Local English Butcher, Videola, Finca Cortesin Golf, Katie Lee Beautician, Isabella Jewellers in Sotomarket, Estepona Golf, Anglo Wines, Cucurucho Tennis Club, Octogano Tennis club, Vered Tal Reflexology, Dyana Dessar Gel nails, Book Angel, Reflexions libreria and cafe, Los Canos restaurant, El Gaucho restaurant, Kirsten Nails, Romain hairdressers, Vinoteca, Florium Florists

This year we want to beat our target. The Institute of Cancer Research is Europe's leading cancer research centre with expert scientists working on cutting edge research into the causes of cancer and to develop new strategies for its prevention, diagnosis, treatment and card

 

Donations may be made through www.justgiving.com/sotosolwalk2010 or cash donations can be handed in at the School cantina on Friday morning at 9am June 2nd. Every cent goes directly to the charities ICR and AECC
