RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

SOS Radio Week is an annual fun-raising event organised by the Lifeboat Amateur Radio Society, in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

Amateur Radio operators from all over the United Kingdon and Ireland come together for nine days towards the end of January each year and get themselves sponsored to make as many contacts as they can during the event.

Some participants operate on their own from home, others run special event stations from lifeboat stations, shopping centres and other public locations - all with a single aim; to raise money for the RNLI.

If you'd like more information about SOS Radio Week, please visit our web site at http://www.sosradioweek.org.uk.

Please make a donation to support some of the bravest and unpaid volunteers in the country - the men and women of the RNLI.
