I'm running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Dementia UK. Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Although my family and I have never had first hand experience with Admiral Nurses, we have had first hand experience with Dementia. 

In November 2021, I lost my wonderful grandmother. I am doing this in memory of and for her. I can’t put into words what she meant to me but I miss her dearly. 

I have seen how dementia can affect an individual and therefore a family. An Admiral Nurse shares their expertise, gives their support and provides life-changing care to those who need it. Working in domiciliary care, I truly understand how important it is to acknowledge the challenges dementia can bring. It has highlighted just how much extra time and care it takes to look after a loved one and the relief it can bring to a family to have the proper support structure in place.
