Story
When you are expecting your first baby you get ready for a LOT of things.
But you are not ready for a 26 week 1.5 pound preemie with lots of issues. First you pray they will survive. Then you wonder what the future holds. When Sophia was in the NICU I knew Dave Ramer and the Kids Center. It's a place you hope to never need, but a place our community is lucky to have.
Sophia is 21 and thriving in college. But in those early years - when we were told she had cerebral palsy, an eye condition called ROP that almost left her blind, sensory issues, a tethered spinal chord and more - we had no idea how to navigate those waters.
The Kids Center was our guide in very uncertain times. From Kim at the front door to the amazing therapists, they held our hand, showed us the way, and helped Sophie focus on her ABILITY and not her challenges.
We walk and we raise money so the Kids Center can continue to thrive and help the next parents who have an amazing child born with extra challenges. Every parent facing that journey needs the Kids Center in their corner!
