Story
It's estimated that around725,000 people in the UK suffer from an eating disorder.
Ranging from anorexia nervosa, to bulimia, to binge eating disorder, these mental illnesses have a huge impact on the individual as well as their family, and can lead to other conditions like anxiety, depression and low self esteem.
I've seen the effects of eating disorders and how devastating it can be, so I'm taking action this year - to raise money for B-eat, the leading eating disorder charity in the UK, I'm running 5 different distance events across the country throughout 2016. For someone who's only ever ran 10k once in her life, this is going to be a challenge.
The events include the Women's Running 10k, the Manchester 10k, and the Leeds, Salford and St Helen's 10k.
You may not understand eating disorders, or suffer from one, but you don't need to in order to see the devastation they cause, or to donate what you can to help.
My fundraising target for this challenge is £1000, but I can't reach it without you.
If we can get to that target, all of the blisters, aching legs and punishing training sessions will be worth it.
Join me in helping support the thousands of people in this country whose relationship with food and themselves is destroying their life.
Join me in helping to Beat eating disorders.
