Sophie's Choice: To go to Africa volunteering for her charity Project Trust by raising £5,380. Not such an easy task.
Hi! My name is Sophie Connolly, from Galway, Ireland and this year I have been selected to travel to Uganda as a Gap year with Project Trust!
I'm just 17 and this is the chance of a lifetime, I need your help (and alot of it).
In Uganda, quite a beautiful North African country, I will be teaching English, Science, Art and anything I can to disadvantaged children in Kiwangala village. The students will be aged from 7 to 20 years of age.
I hope to set up a drama club and other extra-cirricular activies for the childern. Not only will I gain so much from working with the childern, I hope to learn all I can about this amazing country!
I embarke on this adventure with my wonderful partner Danielle who I will live with in a one bedroom 'BUNGALOW' a term used loosley, no electricity, no toilet and certainly no T.V...
I will vounteer there for a full 12 months!
Us project trust volunteers arent just any old kids, we've been hand choosen (now I sound like marks and spencers food) but seriously we are ready for the job.
I have been organising so many fundraising events such as dances and bagpacks but I'm going to cover all grounds if people will support through the magical web!
The fundraising total is in sterling ( But I'll even accept pacos)
So if you can help with this huge obsticle and get me a little bit closer to Africa I'd be more than grateful!
Thanks for taking time to read this info (or my plee). 10c or 10pound is greatly appreciated!
I LEAVE ON MY ADVENTURE ON THE 4TH OF SEPTEMBER.........So time is running out!
