Sophie & Zoe Skydiving for Tommy and Timmy the Tumour!, 16 April 2022

Story

On Friday 12th March 2021 (almost one year after the country was plunged into lockdown) my lovely wee dad was rushed to hospital because he was finding it difficult to speak and hadn't been himself for 3-4 months. He originally was getting treated for severe depression as his symptoms lined up with this. However, after getting multiple CT scans/MRIs etc the doctors found a mass in his brain. Lots of different terms were flying around over the next few days and weeks. Brain bleed? Stroke? Brain tumour?

After weeks/months of scans (and a false diagnosis of a benign brain tumour) we found out that the 4 tumours in his brain were cancerous and originated in his lungs. This seemed like an appropriate time to give them names. Tommy the big tumour and Timmy the baby tumour.

One year later, he has gone through brain surgery, 2 loads of radiotherapy (which has meant doctors can no longer find any cancer in his lungs!) including intensive whole-brain radiotherapy and is on track to start chemotherapy and immunotherapy in the very near future.

Meanwhile, Trevor decided now was a GREAT time to start a new business. What can't this man do?

Now, Trev is receiving great support from the Cancer Centre (and has done throughout his journey so far) so my best friend and I decided the only logical thing to do is to jump out of a plane to raise money for the Cancer Centre.

Are we mad? Yep. Will it be worth it? 1000000%!

Now, let's talk about the charity! The Cancer Centre is a treatment centre located in Belfat City Hospital, and this particular charity funds life-saving and life-changing projects that make a difference to the lives of local people (including our Trev!) who have been affected by cancer.

We would appreciate any donations, no matter how big or how small.

Thank you <3
