Story
Hello and a HUGE thank you for visiting our JustGiving page to help raise money for the Trevor Mann Special Care Baby Unit in Brighton.
Laura, James, Fiona, Emily, Tom, Abbi and Ed are all going to complete the 3 peaks challenge (climbing Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike in 24 hours) on the 31st May. And we musn't forget our driver Charles!
Sophie & Olivia Turton, our beautiful identical twin girls were born at 27weeks gestation. Both needed to be resuscitated at birth, Sophie weighed 2lb 5oz and Olivia 1lb 13oz.
At 3 weeks old Sophie was moved from Southampton to the Trevor Mann unit and Olivia followed 1 week later when it was safe for her to travel. Sophie stayed in hospital for 2 months and Olivia for 3 months.
As you know the girls, inparticular Olivia, had a really rocky start to life and it was an incredibly emotional 3 months for us all. Olivia only came off oxygen a few days before she was due to come home. They will be celebrating their first birthday on the 25th February as happy and healthy babies and this is all down to the fantastic care they were lucky enough to receive.
The Trevor Mann unit was an incredible support for us all and they continue to work tirelessy to save babies lives and help them to get home where they belong. They care for sick babies aswell as premature babies and they do an incredible job in changing people's lives.
We cannot thank them enough for what they did for us and our family and by sponsoring us you will enable them to continue the amazing work they do by helping to buy lifesaving baby equipment.
We continue to be overwhelmed by the love and support we receive by all our family and friends xxxx
