Story
My twin and I were born prematurely at 29 weeks and spent the first 8 weeks of our lives in the Neonatal Unit. We were first in Intensive Care then moved to Special Care. The care we received was exceptional and has meant we have had very few minor impacts of such a premature birth, and I want to ensure other premature babies can experience the same care and lead equally as fulfilling lives. Bliss offers a huge amount of support and guidance to babies and parents affected by prematurity. This support is undeniably helpful to the parents of premature babies. There is a huge amount of uncertainty and confusion of medical terms as well as huge amounts of extra costs for families. Bliss helps families in their time of need. Bliss ensures their is a high level of care for all premature babies in the UK and helps support parents through what can be a very difficult and emotional time.
I’ve chosen to fundraise for Bliss because I want to make a real difference to the 95,000 babies born premature or sick every year. Every donation that’s made to this page brings Bliss closer to ensuring that every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life. Bliss does that by supporting parents to care for their babies, campaigning for better neonatal care and enabling life-changing research.
