Story

WE DID IT!! Thanks to everybody who sponsored us!! There’s still time, if you were waiting to make sure we made it!!

Now the run is done, time to have some fun (& importantly carry on raising money for Plan Moo & Plan Cuy!).

We are having a Charity Quiz at The Gatehouse, Monmouth, Thursday March 17th @ 9pm, there will be a raffle & auction as well as the quiz, £1 per person and all the proceeds go to Plan Moo & Plan Cuy! We have some great prizes, including a bike!! So why not come along!! Hope to see you there xxxx

The Project we are helping - GVI Ecuador!

The hope is that all children graduating from primary school will have the opportunity to carry on into secondary education; which can be very costly. Currently there are 2 great sustainable plans in place to help!

1 – PLAN MOO! A child is given a milking cow – then they sell the milk or make cheese & yogurt to sell & the money they earn goes into their high school education fund. Also, any baby cows produced are passed onto siblings or other children within the community.

2 – PLAN CUY (Guinea pigs)! Similar idea, a cuy house is built & cuys are given to a child – which breed like rabbits, and then sold (guinea pig is a delicacy in Ecuador) for a profit & again this goes into the child’s high school education fun!

These are great sustainable projects which need funds to be continued.

To give you an idea of costs - it costs about £560 for a cow or you could think of it like this - £15 for the tail, £20 per leg, £30 for the lovely face, £40 for the front end, £50 for the rear end, £60 for the rump, £60 for the ribs and £70 for the milking area/the udders! For the cuys, its £800 to build a guinea pig house and £10 per guinea!

All donations will be very gratefully received & will go to this great cause! Thank you for all your support!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks again!
