Pilgrimage 2022 · 1 June 2022 to 4 June 2022 ·

The Connection at St. Martins is happy to announce that the 74-mile Pilgrimage from St. Martins to Canterbury Cathedral is back for 2022, during the Platinum Jubilee Weekend (Wednesday, 1st June to Saturday, 4th June 2022).

Story

This picturesque four day walk in Chaucers footsteps from St. Martins along the Pilgrims Way covers 74 miles. We will be aiming to walk the whole way! The journey ends with a service at Canterbury Cathedral.  We are looking forward to walking with our friends involved in the Sunday International Group (SIG). SIG meets every week in The Connection for a hot lunch, showers and laundry. It is a safe and welcoming space for those who have found themselves in London from all around the world, but with little means of support.  Some are refugees, some came for work or study but have nowhere to live, others have been forced to sleep rough when they lost their job.  Your donation will make it possible for The Connection to continue to host SIG in a safe and welcoming way.

The Connection is also working towards creating a unique home for women who have experienced rough sleeping. This is a project all in itself (see https://18keys.org to find out more). But your donation can ensure that vital support work continues, including research into how women's needs differ from their male counterparts.

About the charity

The Connection at St Martin’s is here to be with people as they recover from life on the streets and move on to meaningful, fulfilling futures and a place to call home. We work with people, not for them, and put every individual person at the centre of their recovery.
