My name is Sophie and last year my Father's battle with addiction culminated in him taking his own life at the young age of 48 this past year (2022). Although it saddens me deeply to say we can no longer hear him sing in the kitchen to Bob Marley, or dance with me to Amy Winehouse, I am grateful to know that he no longer suffers with the turmoil addiction not only brings to the addict but the loved ones around them. I chose the Amy Winehouse foundation as they support those struggling with the disease of addiction at a young age, allowing them to pursue their dreams as my Father would have wished to do. Their work to support both the addict and the family is something that is fundamental in the recovery process. Therefore, I hope you will be able to help me commemorate the memory of my Father by helping those who also struggle with the devastating disease known as addiction.
