Story

In 2018, my beautiful mum Sue was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a condition that has (tried) to turn our lives upside down. MS can show itself in many forms, including impacting your mobility and balance. Currently there is no available cure for this disease, but as a result of ongoing developments, there are now a wide array of disease-modifying therapies available to those with all types of MS. Despite the challenges mum faces daily, her incredible bravery never fails to amaze us!

Over the past 4 years, mum has found a new way of doing everything that she loves, and we have been so proud of how she has overcome numerous barriers to live an independent life- often turning a difficult situation into a joke that we can laugh about forever! From continuing to bake the most decadent cakes, to racing around her favourite country homes in a new set of wheels, she truly is an inspiration. Of course, there are days that symptoms can become overwhelming, and the mental impact MS can have is understandably enormous. Despite this, Mum has shown everyone around her how determined she is and we are so unbelievably proud of her every day!

The MS Society has given us as a family a way to seek a range of support services and advice, and to stay up to date with the newest research. It is thanks to the society that mum was able to find the MS Therapy Centre, an amazing venue offering physiotherapy lead exercise classes! The difference just a few sessions has made to mums physical and mental well-being is outstanding and we cannot be more appreciative of the group for their support.

This is why myself and my best friend, Molly, have taken on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2023! We are raising money for the MS Society to share the incredible work that they do and to raise awareness of MS! We are dedicating our run to Sue, because you are absolutely magnificent in every way!

Help us to find a way to end MS for good🧡
