Story

TEAM BULLY 2014

On 2 March we are taking part in the Bath Half Marathon in tribute to Christopher Bull, our much loved cousin, who died in December 2013 aged 43.  We run in his memory.

We will be running to raise funds for Dorothy House Hospice Care in Bradford on Avon. Many of you will be aware of how the hospice took great care of both Christopher and his family during the weeks he was there. Dorothy House are only able to offer their care and support as a result of donations and fundraising, as with all hospices. Our aim is to raise a minimum of £600 so any contribution you can make towards this is of significant value and will be hugely appreciated.

We each hold particularly fond and individual memories of Chris:

He was always special because he was the first baby I ever held; from a little hand in mine to a devoted husband and father, I watched him become a man of great sensitivity, always fun at family gatherings and someone who acted with absolute gallantry - particularly during 2013. (Karen)

Chris - well, he was a rugby boy. A hell of a tough lad, enjoyed a beer or five, a good laugh and a great sing-along. A family man; full of life, plus he supported Bath enjoying a good shout during the game. All in all a grand gentleman, apart from those little adventures he would instigate when we were younger that always seemed to end up with me getting into more trouble than the rest. So here is to you Chris! Looking forward to raising a glass to you at the finish....come on the Bath half! (Jonny)

I know he meant a great deal to my mum and her family. I love listening to the memories and will be proud to run in his name.  (Sophie)

‘Bull’ was a totally appropriate name for a ‘true English gent’. It was an honour for me to know him; he was a man who spent his life giving to his family and his community.

Many of you will know that I have become an enthusiastic supporter of our Hospices and from what I am told the facilities and support Dorothy House gave to Chris and his family were second to none. Thank you for taking the time to read our words and for your contribution.

(Jon O’Neill)

Now cracks a noble heart. Good night sweet prince:

And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!
